INTRODUCTION

This unit provides the knowledge and skills necessary for social entrepreneurs to learn how to network with other entities and stakeholders related to their objectives. The information contained here will serve as a starting point to foster collaborative processes and/or information exchange that will boost the activity of social entrepreneurs and their enterprises in the field of agri-food, gastronomy and culinary heritage of Empty Europe and the effective achievement of their social goals.

Thus, any (would-be) social entrepreneur that wants to stand the test of time and remain competitive must embrace collaboration, which is not just a working technique any longer, but a long-term method to improve one’s performance by engaging with relevant partners and stakeholders. Those that recognize this quickly gain the upper hand and become successful in today’s modern environment.

RELATION TO OTHER UNITS OF SAGA LEARNING PROGRAMME

This Unit is the second lesson of Module 3, so if the learner has followed a linear study process within the SAGA training, he/she already has relevant knowledge about the functioning of a social enterprise. It is recommended to continue with Unit 3 – Managing relationships with providers, as it will allow you to deepen your understanding of managing and maintaining working relationships in the context of a social enterprise.
