Unit 1 – Details

INTRODUCTION

This Unit is part of the fourth module of the SAGA project curriculum, namely “Social Competencies” and gives explanation for the meaning of the terms co-creation, co-design and co-working. Moreover, the Unit points out the similarities, differences and connections between the three concepts and describes the benefits one can derive from engaging in one or more of these processes. The Unit also strives to emphasize on the importance of being able to engage with different external stakeholders (suppliers, partners, customers, various public bodies and policy makers, etc.) for achieving better results and designing innovative products and services as a social entrepreneur.

The information in the Unit is presented in a clear way, and consists of theoretical part, a theme-related case study, as well as some useful tips, tricks and self-reflection questions in order to assist the learner with the learning process.

RELATION TO OTHER UNITS OF SAGA LEARNING PROGRAMME

This Unit is the first part of the “Social Competencies” module but it does not require prior knowledge and can be considered as a separate unit. However, it is recommended at least to go through the introductory module of the SAGA project curriculum, namely M1U1: What is a social enterprise and what does it imply setting up one and other two related units – M1U3: Ideation of the product & service related to gastronomy, culinary heritage and food and M3U2: Managing relationships with providers before starting with this one. In this way you will be able to get the most out of the training materials and learn key concepts such as ideation, and why it is necessary to engage with external stakeholders to achieve better outcomes.
