INTRODUCTION
In essence, the main objective of this Unit is to provide the necessary tools for (potential) social entrepreneurs to learn how to identify and come up with new ideas for social business or the development of innovative products, services or experiences aimed at creating value in their local communities and alleviating the challenges faced by the rural areas within the so-called Empty Europe.
The ideation process of new products and services related to gastronomy, cultural heritage and food in these urban areas will be driven by the creativity of the entrepreneurs and students of the SAGA programme, as well as by their collaborative skills in co-creating with other relevant actors in their area. Therefore, the aim of the Unit is to train them to creatively ideate and evaluate opportunities for personal, professional or social business activity development.

RELATION TO OTHER UNITS OF SAGA LEARNING PROGRAMME
The Module 1 – Inspiration for Social Entrepreneurship, provides tools to gain inspiration for a social enterprise. Among other things, it goes deeper into recognising opportunities and letting an idea mature. It is advisable to read, if it hasn’t done yet, the previous Units of the Module, in order to gain knowledge on what a social enterprise is and how to identify new opportunities within the so-called Empty Europe.
Learners would better continue with the following Unit, before jumping into Module 2 – Defining your Social Business, as market research is an essential condition for any enterprise to-be.
Also, the Unit 1 – Co-creation, co-desing & co-working of the Module 4 will be useful for learners to work in collaborative environments when setting up their product/service.
